Monserratte questions CM Pramod Sawant over police-drug peddlers’ nexus

Porvorim: Panaji MLA Babush Monserratte was critical of his own government when he spoke about the recent drug haul at Campal Parade Ground. He alleged that the police were hand in gloves with the drugs peddler, due to which the narcotics were available in the heart of the city.

Monserratte also questioned Sawant over the inefficiency of police department stating that such a trade cannot exist without knowledge of the police.

He also said that two ladies tried to self immolate themselves in front of police, but no case was registered against them for trying to commit suicide.

Monserratte said that the vagabonds who were living at Campal were having PAN and Adhar Card and were also planning to buy a flat of Rs 40 lakh.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that he will ask police to investigate the case with more seriousness. He said that the police had already taken action after the drug hault was found.
