Ponda: MGP councilor Yatish Sawakar on Saturday announced his decision to join BJP, quitting Dhavalikar-led party.

Sawakar’s decision comes a day after MGP got its councilor Amina Naik as Vice Chairperson on the council. Sources claimed that Sawakar had voted against Naik during the elections held yesterday.

MGP Ponda leader Dr Ketan Bhatikar reacting to the political development wished Sawakar all the best for his journey with BJP.

He said that Sawakar was and still remains his great friend irrespective of his political decision. Bhatikar claimed that he is sure that nothing can topple VC Amina Naik.

“I am sure to enjoy the majority. Just wait and watch as picture abhi baki hai,” he said.
