Porvorim: Both the MGP MLAs – Manohar Ajgaonkar and Dipak Pawaskar – had resolved to split from the party and form their own group at 5 p.m.
Later both of them approached Chief Minister Pramod Sawant with the letter of support, who directed them to officiating Speaker Michael Lobo.
At around 1.45 a.m. finally both submitted the letter to the Speaker merging MGP legislature party into BJP.
Pawaskar said that they had to take this decision in the interest of people from the constituency. He also said that he has been offered ministerial berth, which was required to take forward development in the constituency.
