Ponda: MGP leader and social worker Dr Ketan Bhatikar has appreciated Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for his interaction with the people who have recovered from COVID-19 infection, which was aired on social media last week.
Bhatikar said that though he has been critical of state government several times, this action of the Chief Minister, earns him the praise.
In a statement issued on social media, Bhatikar said “Lot of things I don’t agree, lot of things we will keep fighting for, but this interactive session with Covid affected patients is highly appreciated and will be remembered for long.”
“My respect to Dr Pramod Sawant for having this session thus helping remove this social stigma of untouchability and unwantedness.”
“As per my knowledge he is the only Chief Minister to do so in India and till date and hope all others follow so that patients don’t suffer under any circumstances. We are medical practitioners first and it was proved yet again today.”
“For me what’s right will always be appreciated irrespective of any political party affiliations.”
