Panaji: The Mega Medical Camps spearheaded by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane are witnessing unprecedented success, breaking records for patient turnout with each event. Organized across different constituencies every Saturday and Sunday, these camps are bringing specialized healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of Goans.
Specialist doctors from Goa Medical College and Goa Dental College, covering a wide range of medical fields, including Respiratory Medicine, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Dental, Ophthalmology, iBreast Screening, PAP Smear, General Medicine, ENT consultations, Osteoporosis bone health monitoring, Diabetes Counselling, AYUSH, PMJAY/ABHA enrollment, and various wellness activities, are providing free consultations and treatments. Citizens availing themselves of these services have expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the initiative.
The meticulous planning and logistics of the camps are personally overseen by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. He is accompanied by the local MLA, the Dean of GMC, the Dean of Goa Dental College, and the Director of Health Services at each camp. During the events, Rane often shares personal stories about the challenges his own family has faced during illness, emphasizing the importance of preventive healthcare and regular health check-ups for all citizens.
As of now, eight successful camps have been held in Siolim, Calangute, Nuvem, Mayem, Curtorim, Curchorem, Shiroda, and Mormugao. Each camp has seen increasing participation, highlighting the growing popularity and trust in the initiative.
Today’s camp at Mormugao set a new record, with 1,137 patients receiving medical attention. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane’s vision of accessible healthcare for every citizen of Goa is steadily transforming into reality, making a significant impact on the state’s healthcare landscape.
