Margao: Margao Block Congress workers have expressed discontent with GPCC president Girish Chodankar for not taking stand for Leader of Opposition and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat against slander attack by Urfan Mulla, who recently resigned from the party and joined BJP.

In a meeting held earlier this week, the Margao Block Congress workers have informed party vice-president M K Sheikh that they demand Girish Chodankar to publicly condemn the verbal attack by Mulla against Kamat. The members have also given a deadline to the GPCC president till December 5 or face future consequences.

The agitated workers also questioned Block Congress president Gopal Naik as to why the party did not issue any statement against Mulla. In the monthly meeting held, they also questioned as to why Chodankar did not address any press conference condemning the allegations at party workers by Mulla.

With the deadline given as December 5, many of the workers have also called for the resignation of block members, district and PCC members from Margao in support of the Margao MLA.
