Panaji: As the onion prices in Goa are reported to be highest in the country, Mahila Congress Committee has set seven-days deadline to State government to make the staple commodity available at subsidised rate or face protest.
Addressing media persons, Mahila Congress president Adv Pratima Coutinho has slammed government over rising onion prices. “We give seven days deadline to Government to provide onions at subsidised price to the consumers failing which we will come on streets and protest,” she said.
She said that the onions are sold at a retail market price of Rs 120 per kg.
