Porvorim: Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte has given a deadline of 2-3 days for CM Dr Pramod Sawant to reply on his allegations vis-à-vis illegalities in giving construction licence through Mopa Airport Development Authority to GMR Airport, failing which, he would be taking the legal recourse.
Khaunte said that while serious allegations were leveled by him against CM, who gave construction licence to GMR, without charging any fees, his cronies responded to the allegation.
“This is not a party matter. The matter is serious and CM being MADA chief should be replying to it. But he has maintained silence. I dare to reply me on the matter,” he said.
He said that CM should answer to the allegations as they were leveled by a MLA.
Khaunte said that CM was acting like “unbecoming of his post” by being puppet of someone and trying to make Director level officer reply to the allegations.
“CM should answer under which act he allowed the construction licence to GMR without charging any fee,” he said adding that “Dr Corruption was clearly exposed through his deeds.”
Khaunte said that if CM does not reply to the allegations within 2-3 days, he will be taking the legal recourse. “Let CM answer to the Judiciary,” he added.
MAIN OPPOSITION PARTY SILENT ON VARIOUS ISSUES
Khaunte rued that main opposition party was silent on various issues. He said that the united opposition has to be there inside and outside the Assembly. You cannot just have united opposition in the Assembly, and not outside it.
“Only few opposition MLAs are vocal, rest, I don’t know why rest are not talking. Government is getting advantage due to this. The pulse and thought of the people are against the government. covid mismanagement is clear indication, the way things are going.”
“MLA like Alina Saldanha has already started speaking up over Mollem issue. Government is not even listening to their own MLA. Government is trying to clarify why the project was needed to transport the coal,” he said.
“When Karnataka has taken our Mahadayi, how can we even expect them to plant trees for us,” he questioned.
