Accusing the newly launched Paper Mill company at Honda Industrial Estate of not providing any employment to the locals and also creating pollution, the locals on Sunday marched to the plant.
The locals demanded that the industrial unit should give first preference to them before allowing others to migrate to the village.
More than 50 locals walked in a protest to meet the management of the company on Sunday afternoon.
The locals said that they will also be approaching Chief Minister Pramod Sawant demanding that the locals should be provided employment in this unit.
Some of the youths have already applied for various posts in this firm, but have not been given any opportunity.
The locals also pointed out that the company is creating air pollution emanating foul smell in the surrounding areas.
Vishwajit Krishnarao Rane, a local leader, said that the unit should provide at least 70 per cent of the employment to the locals.
