Panaji: Goa police on Tuesday arrested a 21-year-old man for raping his girlfriend’s best friend during a picnic at Arpora beach village in North Goa.
A senior police official said that Albaz Ahmed Khan (21) originally from Haveri (Karnataka) was arrested for raping a 19-year-old girl.
Police said that the victim has filed a complaint that she had gone for a picnic in a resort along with her lady friend.
The complaint mentions that her lady friend’s boyfriend had also joined them for the picnic.
“My friends boyfriend sent his girlfriend out on the pretext of getting some things and he went to the bedroom of the victim girl and forced himself on the victim and raped her,” the victim has said in the complaint.
Police said that the victim narrated her ordeal to her elder sister, when she returned home, and they later filed complaint with Anjuna police station.
The accused was arrested under section 376 of Indian Penal Code for sexual assault.
