Is Goa’s SOP for air travelers full proof? Doubts  raised on it

Panaji: No one flew abroad since last two months but still Goa’s Standard Operating Procedure for air travelers has a column “in case passenger with international travel history.”

In what can reflect the non-serious attitude of those who drafted it, the SOP for all domestic passengers arriving by Air has said “in the case of any passenger with international travel history, as declared in the self declaration form, the person will be mandatorily tested and quarantined till test results come.”
The international travel has been banned since March 23 due to COVID-19 outbreak, while those who have arrived in repatriation flights undergo quarantine once their arrival in India, and are not allowed to travel in domestic flight, till they complete the period.

While the suggestions for COVID-19 negative certification mandatory for the travelers or their anti-body testing does not figure in the SOP, the authorities seems to be completely relying on the “self declaration form” by the traveler.

The SOP reads: those found symptomatic will be mandatorily tested and quarantined.

“Those found asymptomatic will be given the following two options, one of which they should select on the self declaration form to be submitted at the entry gate,” the SOP states.

“Get their tests done by giving their swabs at the collection centres and paying Rs 2000 and maintaining self isolation till results come. Second be under home quarantine for 14 days with stamping.”

Wisdom of acc two

Sop looks faulty..march 23
