IMD issues heavy rainfall warning for Goa; advise public to abstain from outdoor activities

Panaji: As the rains continued to create havoc in the State throwing normal life out of gear, IMD has issued heavy rainfall warning for four days from today till June 30.

IMD has issued orange alert for today, tomorrow and Saturday predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall.

For Sunday, IMD has issued yellow warning as heavy rainfall is expected in isolated parts of the State.

IMD has said that a cyclonic circulation over eastcentral Arabian sea and adjoining South Maharashtra, is likely to bring intense rains for Goa coast.  

In view of intense rainfall forecast, people are advised to abstain from outdoor activities as much as possible during the period of very heavy rainfall and to also watch for weather updates,” IMD said.

Fishermen are also advised not to venture into sea till June 30 due to rough weather.
