Panaji: IMA Goa State strongly condemns the violent attack on one of our doctor collegue on duty in the emergency wing on 21 September 2024 at Goa Medical College.
IMA Goa President Dr. Sandesh Chodankar stated that the culprit has been booked and is under remand for 14 days. The Goa Medicare Service Personnel Act needs to be invoked against this individual, with punishment deemed appropriate as per the provisions of the act after necessary investigations.
We have been soft targets of public rage at times for no fault of our own and due to a lack of understanding on the part of the patients. This needs to be addressed. It is high time that law enforcement authorities take strict and stringent action against any such shameful act and set a precedent to prevent similar incidents in the future.
