High Court stays Blue Flag certification process of Miramar beach, issues notice to MOEF&CC

Panaji:   The Bombay High Court at Goa has stayed the process of Blue Flag Certification of Miramar beach following a writ petition challenging the same.

The Division bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog  and Justice Mahesh Sonak through an order dated October 7 has issued notice to Union Ministry for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF) with regards to its notification selecting Miramar beach for the certification.

Activist Kashinath Shetye had filed writ petition challenging MoEF&CC notification dated July 12, 2019 with regards to Blue Flag certification.

The respondents are granted four weeks time to reply, as the matter is fixed for next hearing on November 4.
