Panaji – As the Hon’ble Supreme Court has given Interim Stay on High Court Order regarding Reservation of Wards in five Municipalities & kept consequent notification of State Election Commission on cancelling Municipal Elections in the said five municipalities in abeyance, I demand that State Election Commission must wait till final disposal of the matter by the Apex Court & should not act in haste under any pressure stated Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.
The judiciary is an important pillar of democracy and it is important for the statutory body like State Election Commission to wait for the final verdict from the Court on important matter like holding elections of local self bodies said Digambar Kamat.
Supreme Court has fixed the hearing on Tuesday, 9th March for disposal and heavens will not fall if State Election Commission shows some patience and wait for the final order of the apex court stated Digambar Kamat.
