Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai, while addressing a press conference in Margao, South Goa, said that Goans are not against development.
“We are against development imposed without data, debate, and consent,” Sardesai said.
Sardesai spoke out against the government’s rushed and unscientific move to confer ‘Urban Status’ on 10 villages in Salcete.
“This isn’t about progress; it’s an undemocratic shortcut that bypasses Gram Sabhas and weakens local panchayats,” he said.
