Panaji: Two days after Goa Suraksha Manch warned to show black flags for the Republic Day function to TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai, Goa Youth Forward has dared the former to do so.

“We are ready to show what it means to waive black flags to our party president Vijai Sardesai. We invite them to do so during Republic Day,” Goa Youth Forward President Raj Malik said addressing a press conference.

He said that GSM has been playing the politics of division and has been undermining the importance of historic Opinion Poll Day.

“We have our own identity due to the Opinion Poll Day. Goan youths are proud of Opinion Poll Day which saved us from merging into Maharashtra,” he said.

GYF General Secretary Lalana Gimonkar said that due to Opinion Poll, we could save our Goemkarponn. “There is no question about importance to Liberation Day. We are proud of the day when we were liberated and also we salute our freedom fighters,” she said.

“But at the same time, those people who had voted for merger are busy undermining the importance of Opinion Poll Day. We would not allow it to happen,” she said.
