Goa yet to finalise its Agriculture policy

Panaji:  The Goa government is yet to fianalise its State Agriculture Policy, even nine years after a special committee was formed for the same.

State Agriculture Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar told the House during recently concluded Budget Session that the Committee, constituted to frame State Agriculture Policy, has not met off late after its Chairman resigned from the post.

As per the attachment submitted along with the written answer on the floor of the House, then Member of Parliament Narendra Sawaikar headed this committee which was formed in the year 2012.

Kavlekar said that the state government will take all the stakeholders into confidence before finalisation of the policy.

“The government has conducted series of meetings involving all the stake holders for drafting the State Agriculture Policy,” he added.

Kavlekar said that the his department has already prepared draft agriculture policy, which is in public domain.

  1. Fishermen & Farmers are today neglected by the Congress+BJP Government in Goa. They should approach AAP Farmers Wing & AAP Fishermen Wing for help in Goa. AAP will definitely help them as they are Common Man Party Aam Aadmi Party.
