Panaji: There will be no shortage of fuel in the state as Goa has enough stock of petrol and diesel, coupled with uninterrupted supply from the neighbouring states, the association said on Monday.

All Goa Petrol Pump Dealers’ Association President Paresh Joshi said that the state has enough stock of petrol and diesel.

“The existing stock can suffice for one month while there is uninterrupted supply from the main chain. The supply chain has not been interrupted,” he said.

State government after initial restrictions on sale of fuel only for vehicles with the curfew passes has now opened up the outlets for general public.

Joshi said that the people will have to bear as state government has instructed the petrol pump owners to work with minimum staff.

He said that the petrol pump owners are also facing scarcity of staff as many who were from outside the state have left for their native, while many don’t stay in the areas near the pump.

“But despite this majority of 130 petrol pumps are functional in the state,” he said.

Joshi said that the association is in touch with the State Civil Supplies Department on regular basis.
