Panaji: Goa on Sunday reported a breaking one hundred and eleven COVID-19 patients recovering on a single day, even as 77 new people were tested positive for the virus.
State Health Department’s bulletin mentions that 77 people were tested positive on Sunday, on the same day, 111 people were recovered and sent back to their homes from different covidcare facilities.
This is the highest number of recoveries reported in the state on a single day.
On Sunday, a 72-year-old man who was admitted at ESI hospital in Margao town, died due to the infection.
This takes the death toll to seven in the coastal state, which was declared as a Green Zone on May 03, before it witnessed a major unprecedented spike in the cases.
The health department said that out of 2253 samples that were tested on Sunday alone, 1812 are negative while 364 reports are awaited.
