Goa put on Orange Alert; Heavy rainfall warning for five days

Panaji: IMD Goa observatory has issued heavy rainfall warning for Goa till October 25. The coastal State is put on orange alert from October 23 to 25.

IMD in a press statement has advised people to abstain from outdoor activities as much as possible.

Fishermen are also asked not to venture into sea during the period.

IMD has said that a low pressure area over eastcentral Arabian Sea with associated cyclonic circulation has been developed, which is likely to become low pressure belt during next 24 hours.

“Widespread moderate rainfall activity with heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places is very likely to occur over Goa State from October 23-25,” IMD said.
