Panaji: In a significant development, the Police Headquarters has directed that all personnel transferred between 2020 and 2025 be relieved with immediate effect.
Despite being issued transfer orders over the years, several officers continued serving at their current police stations due to the absence of relievers.
The matter came to light during a recent review meeting convened by Director General of Police Alok Kumar, where the delay in relieving transferred staff was a key point of discussion.
On Friday, Superintendent of Police (HQ) Nelson Albuquerque issued a formal order stating that all staff transferred through various departmental orders in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 are hereby relieved with immediate effect.
The order further instructs all unit in-charges to ensure submission of joining reports to the concerned accounts section, enabling timely processing of salaries at the new place of posting.
