Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant told the House that state government has successfully auctioned nine iron ore mineral blocks which includes 17 erstwhile mining leases.
In a written reply tabled on the floor of the House by Sawant responding to a question tabled by BJP MLA Premendra Shet, Sawant said that the Government has taken all possible steps to resume mining operations in the State.
The chief minister said that presently the State Government has successfully auctioned 09 iron ore mineral blocks which includes 17 erstwhile mining leases.
Responding to a question on the total number of workers
from all companies from the mining belt that are registered with the Government, Sawant said “as per the information furnished by the Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment, it is informed that no workers from mining belt are register with their Department/Office.”
Sawant said that as per the available records provided by the software service provider it is informed that a total number of 9429 trucks are registered with Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG).
“Out of which 8285 trucks are registered with DMG having GEL (Goa Electronics Limited’s) registration number which can ply for Major and Minor minerals,” he said.
