Goa gears up for vaccination, dry run for  Covid-19 vaccine commenced

Panaji: Three health centres across the state – Corlim, Panaji and Aldona in North Goa on Saturday carried out dry run for Covid-19 vaccine where health workers were administered with dummy vaccine. 25 health workers in each centre took part in the mock exercise for roll out of vaccination.
Health Secretary Amit Satija told reporters that entire exercise of dry run except live vaccination was undertaken successfully by the team of state government.
The dry run of vaccination is held to check on the preparedness and planning including prerequisites of the vaccine introduction as per the Operational Guidelines, vaccine and logistics mobilisation at session sites and mockdrill of vaccination beneficiary and reporting.
The process also indulges creation of facilities and users on CoWIN application (an indigenous app by the Union Health Ministry for digitisation of vaccine), session site creation and mapping of sites, Health Care Worker beneficiary data upload on CoWIN and session planning and vaccinator deployment. The dry run is also held to check deployment of team members who will be administrating the vaccine amon others and review meetings at block, district and state and provide feedback to guide actions.
Earlier, Covid-19 vaccine dry run was carried in four states including Punjab, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.
