Goa chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday flaged off “Vikasit Bharat” rally which will travel across the state propagating the schemes of the central government.
Sawant flagged off the rally at Mantralaya in Porvorim in presence of his cabinet colleagues.
The chief minister said that the rally during their tour will visit every panchayat where they will spend time informing public about the welfare schemes launched by the central government.
He appealed all the Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch and members to remain present when the rally arrived in their panchayat jurisdiction.
Sawant said that the rally will “educate the panchayat members about the central government’s schemes.” He stated that the forms for various schemes will also be available along with the rally, which could be made available for the beneficiaries.
The chief minister said that through this rally, the government is reaching out to each and every person in the state.
Stating that Goa has already become Open Defecation free state and has provided tap water to every households, Sawant said that he would be personally sending appreciation letters to the panchayats who have done exceedingly well on these two fronts.
