Vasco: Hours after Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee demanded reservation for women, the picture of Goa Congress chief Girish Chodankar occupying ‘Ladies Only’ seat in the bus alongside Pratima Coutinho is making rounds.

The bus journey was a part of Congress’ ongoing ‘Jana, Gana, Mana, Nomon Tuka Goemkara’ tour which has began since yesterday.

Coincidently, Coutinho who was abroad on a private holiday after her returning ot the state had met Goa Governor Mridula Sinha pressing for the reservation for women at various levels including Lok Sabha. The mahila congress had submitted the memorandum to the Guv, a picture of which was circulated to the media.

Few hours after that another picture of Chodankar sitting on the seat reserved for ‘Ladies Only’ is being circulated on the social media trying to expose the double standard of the party.

Responding to the picture, Coutinho has said in one of the whatsapp group “There was no lady standing in the bus who wanted a seat.. so their (there) is no issue.. bhakts just want an excuse.” Coutinho has indirectly hinted at the BJP supporters for circulating the picture.
