Panaji: In a major breakthrough, the Panaji Police busted a gang involved in mobile thefts and apprehended five accused persons.
The five accused, named Kumar (20), Raju DR (22), Lakshmana D K (23), Shrikanth D M (22), Ramesh D N (28) are all residents of Shivamogga in Karnataka.
25 mobile phones of different brands and one HP laptop all worth Rs 5,00,000 approximately was seized from their possession.
The police informed that this gang may be involved in committing several thefts in Panaji and Margao areas.
The accused are placed under arrest in Panaji police station and remanded two days custody. They accused have been booked under Section 379, r/w 34 of IPC.
The team led by PI Panaji Sudesh Naik, PSI Sahil Warang, HC’s 5151 Nitin Gaonkar, PC-5819 Ermmaiya Gurayya, and PC- 6492 Sayesh Uskaikar developed the information and well executed the leading to arrest and recovery of mobiles phones under overall supervision of SDPO Panaji Uttam Raut Dessai and SP North Utkrisht Prasoon, IPS.
