Factcheck: Smart City clarifies that the funny pole is not from Goa
Panaji: Some days back, we had carried a picture of a pole whose three bolts were hammered outside in a funny way. One of our well-wisher sent the picture claiming it to be from Miramar and work of the Smart City.
After we carried the picture, the social media was abuzz with choicest of the comments for smart city officials. Panaji and surrounding area people are troubled with the works of Smart City and this picture went well with the image of the projects.
But a senior Smart City official on Monday confirmed that the pole was not from Miramar but from outside India. We deeply regret carrying that pole picture.
The smart city officials claimed that the picture was being circulated with mischievous intentions to spoil their image.
While we admit our fault and apologize for the same, we also are with the people of Panaji who are facing utter discomfort due to the works of Smart City.
