Eight more test positive on Tuesday, tally touches 39

Panaji: With eight more new people testing positive for COVID-19 infection, the total number of people who are being treated for this pandemic in the state has touched a figure of 39.

State Health department in the bulletin issued on Wednesday evening revealed that eight cases have tested positive for COVID-19 infection out of 332 samples that were tested during the day.

With this total number of COVID-19 cases that have reported in Goa has touched 46 mark, with seven patients discharged after treatment since the outbreak of the virus.

Health department said that all the 39 active patients are being treated at ESI Hospital in Margao town, which has been designated as COVID facility.

The officials said that out of the eight fresh cases, four have travelled by train from Delhi, three from Maharashtra and one from West Bengal. “Their condition is stable,” the official said.

As per Health department’s bulletin, at present 581 people are kept in institutional quarantine in different hotels and state government run facilities.

Goa has tested 9549 samples till date, while Health department has spruced up its testing facility at District Hospitals in Margao and Mapusa and Sub District Hospital at Ponda.
