Discussion on Manipur incident not taken up to avoid politicization: Speaker on #HubEncounter

Panaji: Speaker of Goa legislative assembly Ramesh Tawadkar said that the issue Manipur incidents was not taken on the floor of the House to avoid its politicization.

Tawadkar was speaking exclusively on our interview program #HubEncounter.
He said that the issue of BBC documentary was discussed within the limits.

“We have seen how people are creating wrong thinking. Some of our MLAs too have similar intention. If any issue creates rift in the society. We are sensitive about the Manipur incident. Union Home minister has kept a watch on the issue and is taking the action,” he said.

The Speaker said that the issue which has a capability to create rift amongst the communities. “The peaceful Goa may see politics being played on it. the issue may be drifted anywhere and may hurt the sentiments, that is why I have not allowed,” he added.

“No one should give wrong direction to the issue and get political mileage out of it,” the Speaker said.
