Delhi man arrested in Goa for creating terror alert on board Air India flight

Vasco: Goa Police on Thursday detained a passenger who travelled by  Air India’s Delhi-Goa flight for creating panicky situation on-board claiming about the terrorist hijack.

A senior police attached to Dabolim Airport Police Station stated that Zia Ul Haq (30) was arrested after he created panicky situation on board Air India’s Delhi-Goa flight on Thursday.

The accused claimed himself to be an officer of Special Cell and informed passengers about presence of terrorist on board, creating panicky situation amongst the passengers. The accused was handed over to Dabolim Airprot police by Central Industrial Security Force and staff of Air India, when plane landed at Goa Airport.

Police stated that the passenger is mentally unsound and has a past history of taking treatment at Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences, New Delhi. He was medically examined at state run hospital in Goa and has been admitted to Institute of Psychology and Human Behaviour near Panaji after obtaining necessary orders from the magistrate.
