Majorda: Crime Branch on Saturday raided a gambling den at Majorda arresting one person under Goa Public Gambling Act.
Sources stated that at around 3 p.m. the crime branch sleuths conducted the raid on a gambling den located near Majorda ground and arrested one accused under section 11 (2) of Goa Public Gambling Act. The accused person was accepting bets on numbers as a game of chance.
During the raid a cash of Rs 22,100 was seized from the arrested person who has been identified as Maruti Bhagvan Govekar (40) residing at Aquem, Margao.
