COVID-19 update: 3 died, 130 new cases, 53 recovered

Panaji: With three more people succumbing to the COVID-19 infection and 130 people testing positive, Goa’s total tally of active patients has crossed a figure of 1,000.

State Health department, in a bulletin issued, has said that a 47-year-old woman, 60-year-old and 58-year-old men died due to COVID-19 infection. Total 130 samples had tested positive during the day while 53 people were sent back after recovery.

The health department said that out of 4372 samples tested, 1416 are negative while 2826 reports are awaited.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant chaired a meeting to review COVID-19 situation in the state in presence of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.

With the rising number of cases, the state has decied to make it mandatory for private hospitals to reserve 20 per cent of beds in ICU exclusively for COVID management, Rane told reporters.
