Congress in Goa protest against HC verdict in Rahul Gandhi case

Panaji: The Congress party in Goa on Friday protested against the Gujarat High Court verdict in the defamation case against their national leader Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress supporters led by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar held demonstrations at Azad Maidan in the heart of Panaji city on Friday afternoon.

A group of more than 100 congress workers shouted slogans against Narendra Modi-led central government.

Talking to reporters, Patkar said that verdict that was pronounced on Friday was “unfortunate” and was “murder of the democracy.”

“We have to understand why Rahul Gandhi is being targetted. Rahul Gandhi is raising the issues of common people and he is against the BJP. Modi government is dividing people and Rahul gandhi wants to bring them together,” Patkar commented.

The GPCC President said that Modi-led governemnt disqualified Rahul Gandhi by raising fake cases against him after he questioned connections between Modi and Adani group.

“Modi government disqualified him by raising a fake case against him after he raised the issue of connection between Modi and Adani,” he added.
