Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said the state government has ordered stricter security measures at the Central Jail, including inspections of all vehicle entry points, to prevent any future security breaches.
Speaking to reporters, Sawant said he has directed the jail in-charge to carry out a comprehensive inspection of the prison premises and tighten security protocols.
He said the authorities have been instructed to review all vehicle access points and plug any loopholes to ensure that similar incidents do not recur.
Assuring that corrective measures are being implemented, the Chief Minister said the government is committed to maintaining stringent security at the prison.
“It will not happen in the future,” Sawant said, expressing confidence that enhanced monitoring and inspections would prevent any recurrence of security lapses.
