Panaji: Sanvordem MLA and GTDC Chairman Ganesh Gaonkar on Thursday told reporters in Panaji that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has agreed to the demand of the jeep operators to reduce the tariff for trips to the Doodhsagar waterfall.

Following a tiff with the jeep operators, Gaonkar on Thursday met with the CM at his official residence at Altinho.

Talking to reporters after meeting the chief minister, Gaonkar said that the chief minister has agreed to reduce the rates, but when asked how much, he said the CM has not mentioned the exact reduction.

Gaonkar said that the CM has instructed the Sanvordem BJP Mandal President to meet with the jeep operators and convince them to resume services to the Doodhsagar waterfall.

The jeep operators were complaining that they have to charge a high price due to various fees imposed by the state government.
