Panaji: Congress MLA Altone D’Costa has claimed that the BJP is yet to digest their defeat in South Goa due to which have continued attacking Catholic Priests, unnecessarily.
In a media statement released here, D’Costa said there is nothing surprising in the statements made by BJP Goa spokesman Giriraj Pai Vernekar and their MLA Sankalp Amonkar.
“BJP is yet to digest their humiliating defeat in South Goa. There is sizeable vote share that is pulled by our popular and patriotic candidate Capt Viriato Fernandes in South Goa district irrespective of religion,” he said.
DCosta said the people from Hindu, Christian, Muslim and all other religions have stood with him. Even my constituency, Capt Viriato has received significant number of votes from Hindus and Catholics. Goa stands with Congress party and any amount of attempt by BJP to spoil the unity will not work.
