Panaji: Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) on Wednesday said that the party will contest upcoming State Legislative Assembly election with its full might.
MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar was addressing a press conference in Panaji after chairing the Central Committee meeting of the party.
He said that the party has decided to fight upcoming Assembly election scheduled in 2022 with its full might.
Dhavalikar also alleged that some leaders in BJP and other people, who are opposed to the party, are trying to portray the picture that the party has split.
“The wrong image is being projected. There is no split in the MGP. We are working unitedly and decisions are taken by taking everyone into confidence,” he said.
MGP had won on three seats during 2017 Assembly election, of which two MLAs left the party to join BJP.
Dhavalikar said that the ruling party has been meted with injustice as Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly is not even considering the disqualification petition filed against both the MLAs who had quit the party.
