Panaji: At the backdrop of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s hospitalization,  BJP on Monday held a crucial meeting of its MLAs, MPs and party office bearers.

Party’s National leader and Goa Desk in-charge B L Santhosh chaired the meeting which was attended by various leaders at Panaji.

Parrikar, 63, is admitted at Goa Medical College and hospital since Saturday for treating his pancreatic ailment.

While Santhosh refused to talk to media, the leaders attending the meeting claimed that there was no discussion held on the health condition of Parrikar or leadership change during the meeting.

Emerging from meeting, Union AYUSH Minister and North Goa Member of Parliament Shripad Naik said that the discussions were around implementation of programmes listed out by the party.

“Our leaders took stock of the preparations to implement these programmes,” he said adding that BJP will reach out to every household.

Responding to a question, he said that there was no discussion on health of the Chief Minister. “He is  recovering and we wish him speedy recovery,” Naik said.

BJP Goa unit President Vinay Tendulkar said that the party is gearing up to face upcoming Lok Sabha election.

He also ruled out that there was any discussion around health condition of CM or leadership change. “CM is recovering. He will be kept under observation for 48 hours before he is discharged,” Tendulkar said.
