BJP and Ravi scores first goal in Ponda municipal poll

Ponda: Ravi Naik’s panel backed by BJP scored the first goal in Ponda municipal council election on the day of the withdrawal of the nomination.
Vishwanath Dalvi, former chairperson of the Ponda Municipal council, was elected unopposed from the ward no 7 after his rival Bharat Purohit withdrew from the fray.
There was one to one fight in this ward.
Purohit’s withdrawal came after senior BJP leaders intervened. He was also seen posing for a picture with CM Dr Pramod Sawant.
With this, the election for 14 wards would be held on May 5.
