Panaji: Congress president Girish Chodankar today made a forceful plea before Governor Dr Mridula Sinha for full time Chief Minister in Goa in view of Manohar Parrikar’s USA visit for medical treatment.

“We once again appeal to the Governor to intervene to have full time CM,” he said in a press statement issued today evening.

“If not, then she should withdraw her pleasure in the Council of Ministers and dismiss this Government forthwith and restore the mandate of the people by inviting Congress party to form Government,” Chodankar added.

Congress has threatened to call for a state wide agitation if Governor fails to intervene and act.

Chodankar has reiterated that BJP should focus on health of Parrikar and relive him from the post of Chief Minister helping him to recover faster and also ensure Goa does not suffer.

“The State administration is in ICU in view of absence of Chief Minister and two of his senior colleagues on serious medical grounds for several months,” he said.

“But the BJP seems to be reluctant to hand over charge to any other person as it well known fact that party is dependent on one person to  hold fort for them and with Parrikar not being there, there is dearth of people with leadership quality,” he charged.

The Congress has also urged that government should inform correct facts to the people about the health condition of Chief Minister by issuing health bulletin through hospital.
