All the MLAs, their close contacts, Assembly staff to undergo compulsory COVID19 test

Panaji: Goa Legislature has asked all the 40 Members of Legislative Assembly and its staff to get tested for COVID-19 infection after one of the MLA tested positive.

Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserratte on Friday announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 infection. Monserratte had participated in the ongoing Budget Session of the state legislative Assembly.

State Legislature Secretary Namrata Ulman, in a health advisory issued on Saturday, has asked all the members of legislative assembly and the staff to get themselves tested at their nearby Primary Health Centre or Hospital.

“All the Hon’ble members should give their swab at the PHC/Hospitals of their jurisdiction, so also the primary contact, staff should also give their swab for testing at their PHCs/hospitals on 27th and 28th March, 2021,” the advisory reads.

“The Collectorate has issued orders to the doctors to be available on the above mentioned dates at their respective PHC/hospitals to carry out the needful for the Hon’ble members and their staff,” the advisory added.

The Budget Session of the Assembly began on March 24 in the state.
