Absconding Maharashtra man detained for kidnapping a minor girl

Colvale: Goa Police on Tuesday detained a 23-year-old man for kidnapping a minor girl from Ahmadnagar in Maharashtra.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi told reporters that the complaint against the accused Yuvraj Kotkar was lodged at Tofkhana police station in Maharashtra for kidnapping a 16-year-old minor girl.

Dalvi said that the information was received from Maharashtra police that the accused was suspected to be present at Colvale area, near Mapusa town, 10 kms away from here.

Colvale police after conducting search at Colvale, finally managed to arrest the accused at Chicalim in South Goa on Tuesday, he said adding that the girl was rescued after his detention.

The accused and the kidnapped girl were further handed over to PSI Balasab Shinde, and staff of  Anti human Traffic Unit Ahmadnagar, he added.  

The operation was conducted under the supervision of SP North Nidhin Valsan, DYSP Jivba Dalvi, Police Inspector Vijay Rane and other staff consisting of  PSI Kunal Naik, Constable Sandeep Malik and other staff.
