Panaji: In what seems to be a fall out of Delhi AAP taking over the affairs of State party unit leadership, party’s former General Secretary and their candidate for Member of Parliament Pradeep Padgaonkar has resigned from the primary membership.

In a statement issued after tendering his resignation, Padgaonkar has wished Rahul Mahambre all the best and hoped that “with the active support he receives from a strong team from Delhi that is now based in Goa, AAP will do better.”

Team of AAP leaders from Delhi has been stationed in the state since last few months reorganizing the party. Padgaonkar had resigned as General Secretary after getting infected with covid-19 while party’s face Elvis Gomes had also put down his papers as Covenor of the party.

“I am to inform you that I have resigned from the primary membership of AAM AADMI PARTY with effect from today, 17th October, 2020.After I came out of a life threatening situation due to Corona infection, I had already shed my responsibilities as General Secretary of the party,” Padgaonkar said.

“I have conveyed my best wishes to  Rahul Mahambre and his committee and have hoped that with the active support he receives from a strong team from Delhi that is now based in Goa, AAP will do better.”

“Personally, my belief that means are as important as the end was getting shaken. In recent times I was beginning to get doubtful about my ability to show adherence to the 3 Cs enshrined in the party’s constitution, due to the changing scenarios all around,” he said.

“I thank you for your cooperation during my association with the party more particularly during my tenure as the General Secretary of the party. I will remember your contribution that helped me do my bit for AAP,” he said in a statement.
