Panaji: AAP condemned the statement reportedly made by Sankhali MLA Pramod Sawant, that he will form the ruling council in the Sankhali Municipality despite winning only 3 out of 13 wards.
Aap leader Valmiki Naik said that the people of Sankhali have clearly voted against Sawant, but with the MLA declaring brazenly that he will indulge in horsetrading despite a stunning defeat is a slap on democratic traditions which he as the speaker is expected to uphold.
Naik further asked whether Pramod Sawant can be trusted to discharge his duties as Speaker as he was making a mockery of the constitutional position in the Legislative. He said that if the BJP-led Govt has any shame left, they should also strip Sawant of his position of Speaker.
He said that people will be watching to see if Pramod Sawant is going to indulge in horsetrading immediately, or is he waiting for Amit Shah or Nitin Gadkari to arrive in Goa help him out
