Vagator: Goa police on Sunday arrested a Pune based man for dangerously driving the SUV killing a 57-year-old lady on the spot by ramming the vehicle into the reception area of the resort at Vagator in North Goa.
Anjuna police arrested Sachin Kurup from Kondhwa Pune after he recklessly drove his SUV which went into the reception area of a hotel, killing lady hotel owner Remedia Mary Albuquerque on the spot.
Deputy superintendent of police Jivba Dalvi told reporters that the arrest was done on Sunday while the incident happened on Saturday night. Dalvi said that the accused had a full knowledge that his reckless and dangerous driving act will cause instant death of any innocent person.
The accused was driving Haryana registration SUV and dashed against the victim, who was standing near the reception counter.
Two more persons Shiv Mangal Dindo (22) and Rupa Paras (31) who are working in another resort were also injured in an accident, as they were standing next to the victim near the reception counter.
Dalvi said that the accused had gone to visit his friend, who was living in the resort, when accident happened.
