Panaji: The Konkan Railway unit of Goa police on Tuesday arrested a 47-year-old man from Maharashtra living in Kerala for masturbating on a girl while she was sleeping in Goa bound train.
A senior police official said that the team led by Police Inspector Sunil Guddler arrested Dattatray Chavan (47) for masturbating on the face of a 22-year-old girl when she was fast asleep in Purna Express train.
The girl was on her way to Goa from Kerala along with her friends when incident happened, the official said.
“Two of the friends of the girl saw the accused masturbating on the face of the girl when she was fast asleep when train reached at Gokarna station in Karnataka on Tuesday morning. They immediately informed the emergency number of Railways, who later alerted Konkan Railway police,” the official said.
The team of Konkan Railway police arrested the accused when train reached at Margao Railway station.
The victim has thanked the team of Konkan Railway police for swift action in arresting the accused.
