Sunset on BJP has started from Goa, UP, Punjab: Mamata Banerjee

Panaji: Trinamool Congress Party chief Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that the sunset on BJP has started from the states like Goa, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, which will continue across the nation.

Banerjee was speaking while formally announcing TMC’s alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, which is state’s oldest regional party.

“You will have to work to protect Goa. Goa is India, don’t think that Goa is very small. Sunrise happens in Goa. When Goa smiles, India smiles,” she said addressing a public meeting in Panaji on Tuesday.

“There is also Sunset in Goa. BJP’s sunset has started from Goa, UP, Punjab to entire India. They have cheated a lot with the people,” Banerjee said.

The West Bengal chief minister said that everyone should come together irrespective of religion and community, all should come together and save Goa from BJP.

“Save Goa from Disaster, this is my slogan,” she said. Banerjee said that TMC and MGP will work together and no one can stop this combination from winning.

Speaking about Congress she said “Congress makes big claims of fighting the elections alone. In the entire country, you contested alone, you even fought against us, even now you are fighting with us.”

“At least fight against BJP and then make tall statements. I was also in congress but I left it because I saw you (congress) making friendship with BJP,” she said.

Banerjee said that Congress makes relationship with BJP to save themselves.

“TMC and MGP is a joint family now. We will fight the battle together. We will sacrifice small interest for the bigger interests and we want to develop Goa in a right direction,” she added.
