Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has said that Prime Minister will resolve the issue of mining inGoa. Rane also recalled the efforts of chief minister Manohar Parrikar to help the mining dependents.

“He is the only chief minister who addressed the issue of mining dependents. There was no other government who thought of toeing this line or never there was a suggestion from opposition on this line,” he told a press conference.

“It was the initiative of Parrikar that helped the mining dependents to get protected and also give them the financial help. Whatever he could do and he has been doing his best,” Rane said.

“We are confident that only prime minister can resolve the issue of mining in goa. Don’t even think that prime minister is ignoring this issue. PM is well aware about the situation in Goa. You have reported that some of our members have visited delhi and contacted his office. He is well aware about the situation in Goa and he will only find out solution for this issue. Congress is trying to intimidate people,” he said.

He lambasted the Congress party for trying to use this issue.

“Congress is not coming up with the constructive suggestion. They should give in writing to the Chief minister’s office. We all know that mining is crucial economic activity in the state. We have to find out solution for the supreme court.  Congress has not given any support to the prime minister stating that they support ordinance to solve mining issue,” he said.
