Panaji: The video of a Goa MLA who had accused a man of sextortion has gone viral on social media, with police investigating all the possible angles including possibility of full blown sex scandal.
It may be recalled that a Goa MLA had filed a case with crime branch accusing a person from Odisha of being involved in sextortion by morphing his video. While complainant mentioned that Rs 55,000 were paid to the accused by the victim, the Crime Branch in their press note had said that already Rs five lakh were extorted from the MLA.
While identity of the MLA has been kept under wraps and accused remaining in the police custody, the issue was blown in public after the video was leaked on social media.
The video was leaked on Twitter on Saturday tagging all the leading media houses in the state including GoaNewsHub.
A senior police officer, when contacted, said that they are investigating all the angles in the case including full blown sex scandal. “We cannot say anything at this juncture as investigation is in progress. We will ensure that accused gets punished and case is taken to the logical end,” he said.
